Ideas for your garage

Garages are wonderful thing in most cases. Not only can they give you a place to keep your car and other assorted pieces of junk, but they’re also able to be much more interesting than that if you know how. In this hub I’ll be going through some of the things that you might consider doing with your garage that are more interesting than just a storage heap!

1.       Create a games room. This might sound farfetched but in your garage you have a large open space (once you’ve cleared it out) making it perfect for a games room. For example you might consider having a table tennis table setup in their all year around or a table football table. There are loads of choices here but the garage can be great if you want some extra entertainment.

2.       Create another living room. This takes the games room idea one step further. It’s possible in most cases to create an actual living room in the garage if you know how. Remember that you may need to get planning permission to do this but that probably won’t be a problem. In most cases unless you’re good at building you should get  a professional to do it for you as it can be quite a tricky job to insulate it. However, this can really add to the value of your home because you can create a new bedroom which always increases house prices. Home and interior design isn't always easy.

3.       Make it into a proper storage space. If you don’t want to do anything fancy then making your garage a proper storage area is a good thing to do. What do I mean by proper? Well, all I mean is that you should organise everything so it’s easy to find things. There’s nothing worse than trying to find something in a messy garage so you should always ensure that you choose a system and then stick to it.

Garages can be extremely useful things but only if you’re willing to put some effort into them. Like anything else, you get what you pay for so don’t expect miracles straight away.
